The purpose of Freedom Bits is to aid in the creation of a free and voluntary society, based on libertarian principles. We use technology as a means to create a free, more just society.
- We believe that the right to privacy and the right to be free from mass surveillance is an important building block of a free society.
- We believe that the right to free speech is absolute. Censorship of any ideas, extremist or not, makes them thrive in echo chambers, where the full face of their ideas is not exposed to society, and people without the literacy to understand the stupidity of those ideas will fall for the “milder” version presented to mainstream society.
- We believe in a voluntary, consent-based society, where all human interactions are conducted without aggression, coercion or violence.
- We believe that diversity is paramount to a libertarian world order. All individuals and groups, regardless of race, sexuality, gender, political opinion, should be allowed to organize and form communities based on their values and principles, where they can feel safe and have a sense of freedom and community.
- We promote federated networks as an alternative to centralized big tech owned services. The individual should have full ownership of their data, free from corporate/government surveillance and control.
